This project we were to design an Italian villa on the Celio hill. My design incorporates the villa building on the top of the hill with a progression from formal gardens to informal outdoor public spaces as the slope descends.
Ground Floor Plan, Second Floor Plan, Longitudinal Section, Back Elevation; Apartment Plans and Elevation
This plate shows our proposed design for the site at 1:500 m. The three perspectives display key views from the design.
The second project of the 2013 school year was to create a new urban design proposal for the a specific area along the Tiber River. I worked with three other classmates to design a riverwalk with two sets of stairs down to the lower pedestrian area and a belvedere lookout. We also created some public garden areas and private gardens for the office buildings on the site.
The plate includes three top plans showing the site conditions in the late 18th century, the current site conditions, and our new proposal for the site. The two larger plans are diagrams of the area showing public and private buildings and a plan rendered according to the function of each building. The two sections at the bottom show the change in topography on the site.
The third project of the 2013 school year was a follow up project to our urban proposal and completed again with the same three classmates. The project was to create a Jewish school to be located in the urban site we had just proposed.
This plate displays an exterior perspective of our school from the piazza. The elevations are the side elevation of the gym and the front facade of the school.
This plate displays the ground floor plan of the school with a full sized gym and a protected interior courtyard
This plate displays the second and third floors of the school.
This plate includes a perspective of the courtyard along with a transverse section and the rear elevation from the riverside.
This plate includes a perspective of the lobby of the school, a plan of the basement at half the size of the other plans, and another transverse section through the lobby and main stair hall.
This plate includes a detail of the truss in the gym, the front elevation of the gym, a section through the gym, a longitudinal section through the classroom area of the school and the fourth floor plan.
This plate was an assignment for my Roman Urbanism class to be completed in 10 hours. I created an urban proposal for the neighborhood San Saba and included two details from the existing buildings to incorporate the existing character in my design.
For our first project of the year, the assignment was to create an urban proposal for the Jewish Ghetto in Rome. This title page includes three perspectives of key views of the site. The main building that we proposed on the site was an open air market building.
This plate is a master plan of the site in the Jewish Ghetto. The Portico d'Ottavia creates the center piece for the proposed piazza with the market building to the left and a set of sloping steps in front of the Portico.
This plate is at twice the scale of the previous plate and includes ground floor plans of our proposed buildings.
This plate includes two sections, the top section was taken through the Portico d'Ottavio showing the change in level between the ancient level and the current level and how our sloping steps mediate the difference. The lower sections is taking with one's back to the Portico, facing the piazza.
